Flamencólico – La Parada in Seville

The arrival of autumn is beginning to be noticed in the skies of Madrid. The cold wind presses that afternoon, the first lightning and thunder appear, foreshadowing a long night of rain. On the outskirts of the city, at a disused bus stop, two homeless men meet whose only concern at that moment is to protect themselves from the bad weather.

Two strangers, one from Madrid and the other from Cadiz. One lives at the stop and the other is just passing through. One with a thousand stories to tell and sing, another with a story never told. The third character in discord, La Parada, which starts as a conflict, becomes the main thread in which the protagonists take refuge and let themselves be carried away to give free rein to their experiences.

Experiences that will transport the characters and spectators on a roller coaster of emotions. A journey through time between Cadiz and Madrid, the flamenco of yesteryear and today, love and heartbreak. A stop to rise or fall into oblivion. A stop full of hope where Flamencolica comes to life. La Parada.

TEATRO JONDO COMPANY was born from the union, experience and a long creative and enriching process between Álvaro Galán actor, theater director and president of AAEE (Association of Scenic and Educational Arts) of Cádiz and Selu Torres flamenco singer/author/composer. The objective of this process is to. Research and creation with respect to interpretation and production. An artistic and multidisciplinary hybridization. A search for the necessary balance between two performing arts such as flamenco and theater. A common nexus, without falling into typicalities or folklore, which allows us to stage a dramatized story transmitting all the passion and emotions of the two arts as if they were one. To open a new path in the communion between both disciplines. A further step in the theatrical-musical genre, spinning flamenco and theatrical palos to flow together with the dramaturgy. The creation of a new scenario for the dissemination of our artistic and cultural heritage. All this with the understanding that art is the engine of social transformation. From the culmination of this work comes our first project of contemporary artistic creation Flamencólogo La Parada, an original musical work. A tragicomedy with a melancholic tinge loaded with humor, drama, flamenco and social content.
