Day trips from Seville to beat the heat this summer: beaches, natural pools and water parks

admin Updated on 6 August 2026

The heat has officially arrived in Seville and, with temperatures soaring since May, it's time to start planning summer getaways. And you don't need to go very far to find real paradises to cool off.

Natural pools in the middle of the sierra, beaches just over an hour away, reservoirs surrounded by nature and water parks perfect for spending the day with friends or family. Seville has plenty of options around it to escape the heat.

Here are some of the best cool plans near Seville for this summer 2026.

Cañaveral de León Lagoon (Huelva)

One of the most curious and photographed spots in Andalusia. The famous Cañaveral de León lagoon works as a huge natural pool located right in the middle of the village.

The water comes from the village's natural spring and was traditionally used to irrigate the area's orchards. Today it becomes one of the most sought-after places to escape the heat every summer.

🚗 Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Seville
📅 Usual opening: June
💸 Free access

San Nicolás del Puerto River Beach (Seville)

Probably one of the best-known natural bathing areas near Seville. Around the Galindón river an artificial beach has been created, surrounded by nature, where thousands of people gather every summer.

It has beach bars, shaded areas, a beach volleyball area and a family atmosphere. Perfect for spending the whole day in the heart of the Sierra Norte.

📅 Usual opening: June
💸 Free entry

José Torán Reservoir (Seville)

If you're looking for a quieter plan surrounded by nature, the José Torán reservoir is a real hidden gem between Constantina, Lora del Río and La Puebla de los Infantes.

As well as swimming in the designated area, it's perfect for a picnic, unwinding or watching one of the best sunsets in the province from the Las Palomas viewpoint.

Mazagón (Huelva)

Mazagón is one of the best beaches near Seville for those seeking space, tranquillity and kilometres of golden sand.

La Flecha del Rompido Beach (Huelva)

Probably one of the most spectacular and wild beaches near Seville. La Flecha del Rompido is part of a protected natural area and can only be reached by boat from El Rompido.

Untouched sand, nature and a feeling of total disconnection make it well worth the trip.

Valdelagrana (Cádiz)

Located in El Puerto de Santa María, Valdelagrana is one of the favourite Cádiz beaches for a quick trip from Seville.
