Magical Corners of Seville
We all know the city's most emblematic monuments and squares, but there are hidden and curious places that only the sharpest-eyed will discover. We're going to tell you about secret spots off the usual tourist routes, about the magical corners of the city of Seville.
Strolling along Avenida de la Constitución, it's easy to be overwhelmed by the majesty of Seville Cathedral and overlook one of the city's most beautiful and welcoming squares: Plaza del Cabildo, a semicircular arcaded square that preserves the frescoes by Juan Palomar, a fountain and even remains of the old city wall.
Continuing our walk through the city, we reach Plaza del Triunfo, and just before heading down Calle Mateos Gago we should visit the hidden Plaza de Santa Marta, where time seems to have stood still and which keeps a romantic and historic aura.
We leave behind the grandeur of the monumental area and start wandering its streets until we reach Calle Mármoles, a narrow lane where four Roman columns still survive in a small garden in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood.
Finally, we discover the famous Calle Céspedes, better known as the green street. This place stands out for its narrow character, its traditional architecture and, above all, its vegetation and the plants hanging from the balconies.
