The grand entrance to Carmona's old town is a fortress with Carthaginian and Roman roots, which the Almohads and Christians transformed over time. You can climb its towers and terraces: views over the city and the Vega are among the best in the province.
In the very Alcázar there is the tourism office, a good starting point to explore Carmona: the Prioral de Santa María, the Puerta de Córdoba and the Alcázar del Rey Don Pedro, today a Parador.
