August keeps going, but Seville doesn't stop. From 17 to 23 August 2026, the city offers a particularly interesting programme for those looking for night-time plans, live music, culture, exhibitions and ways to escape the heat, even if only for a few hours.
This week we've found everything from jazz and swing to concerts in one of Seville's most magical venues, electronic music proposals and exhibitions to enjoy in the air conditioning, which in August also counts as world heritage.
If you're looking for what to do in Seville this week, make a note of these plans.
1. Farewell to Jazz at the CAAC
📅 Tuesday 18 August
📍 Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC)
🕙 22:00 h
The summer cycle of Jazz en el CAAC, organised together with Assejazz, reaches its final night this week after having brought a range of classic, contemporary and experimental jazz proposals to the Monasterio de la Cartuja throughout July and August.
A perfect opportunity to enjoy live music in one of Seville's most unique cultural spaces.
Ideal for: jazz lovers and anyone looking for a different night-time plan.
2. Nights in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar
📅 From Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 August
📍 Jardín del Cenador de la Alcoba – Real Alcázar de Sevilla
🕥 22:30 h
🎟️ Tickets: €7
One of our summer essentials in Seville.
The Nights in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar continue this week with concerts of different styles on a stage that is hard to beat. The cycle runs until 19 September, from Tuesday to Saturday, and brings together classical music, flamenco, jazz, early music and sounds from different parts of the world.
Among the confirmed performances for this week are:
Friday 21 August: Otros caminos del blues, with Kid Carlos Trío.
Saturday 22 August: Por vos tengo la vida, with Dura Sorte, a programme dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the wedding of Charles V and Isabella of Portugal.
The gardens' access gates open before the concert, so it's worth arriving early and enjoying the evening stroll too.
3. Swing Night at Fundación Cajasol
📅 Thursday 20 August
📍 Patio of Fundación Cajasol – Plaza de San Francisco
🕘 21:00 h
🎟️ Free entry until capacity is reached
One of the most original plans this week comes with the Noches de Verano en Cajasol.
On Thursday 20 there will be a Swing Night with a beginners' masterclass led by Sevilla Swing Dance, designed both for those who already know this dance and for those trying it for the first time. The programme also includes live music as part of the Foundation's summer cultural cycle.
A free plan, in the very heart of the city and perfect for doing something different.
4. A blues night in the Real Alcázar
📅 Friday 21 August
📍 Royal Alcázar of Seville
🕥 22:30 h
If you have to choose just one of the Alcázar cycle's nights, Friday's proposal may be one of the most appealing.
Kid Carlos Trío presents Otros caminos del blues, a concert included in the “Conversaciones a tres” cycle.
Blues, historic gardens and a Seville summer night. Not much more to add.
5. Amelie Lens at Sala Pandora
📅 Saturday 22 August
📍 Sala Pandora – Seville
🕙 From 22:00
For those looking for something considerably more intense, on Saturday Amelie Lens, one of the most recognised international names in the techno scene, arrives in Seville.
The Belgian artist will headline the season opening of Rebels at Sala Pandora, with a set that will run all night. The published schedule places the event between 22:00 and 07:00.
A completely different plan from the rest of our selection, especially designed for electronic music lovers.
6. Discover Julio González in “Forjar el vacío”
📅 Available from 17 to 22 August
📍 Fundación Cajasol – Sala Velázquez, Seville
🕚 11:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00
🎟️ Free entry
If you're looking for a cultural plan and, at the same time, a few hours away from the August heat, this week you can visit “Julio González. Forjar el vacío”, one of the summer's highlight exhibitions in Seville.
The show is dedicated to Julio González, one of the great renewers of 20th-century sculpture and a key figure in the development of modern iron sculpture. The exhibition brings together drawings, paintings and some of his most representative sculptural works.
It can be visited in the Sala Velázquez of Fundación Cajasol, in the heart of Seville, until 12 September 2026. It opens Monday to Saturday and entry is free.
Ideal for: art lovers, those looking for a quiet plan in the centre and anyone who wants to shelter from the Sevillian heat for a few hours.
7. Flamenco in the heart of Seville
📅 Throughout the week
📍 Teatro Flamenco Sevilla – Calle Cuna
August is also a good time to catch flamenco, especially if you have visitors at home or are discovering Seville as a tourist.
The Teatro Flamenco Sevilla keeps its programme of shows going in the heart of the historic centre during these days, with different sessions dedicated to cante, dance and guitar. The venue also holds performances during this August week.
A classic that works especially well for ending an evening in the centre.
8. An evening dedicated to Charles V and Isabella of Portugal
📅 Saturday 22 August
📍 Gardens of the Real Alcázar
🕥 22:30 h
The Alcázar's programme offers a proposal on Saturday that is especially linked to Seville's history.
The group Dura Sorte will perform Por vos tengo la vida, a concert of early music created around the 500th anniversary of the wedding of Charles V and Isabella of Portugal.
A different way to approach a historical episode closely tied to the Real Alcázar itself.
9. Night Walk through Santa Cruz and Plaza de España
Not every plan requires a ticket.
When the sun goes down, this is still one of the best times to rediscover Seville on foot. You can start at Plaza del Triunfo, wander through the streets of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, cross the Murillo Gardens and finish at Plaza de España.
Our tip: avoid the central hours of the day and save this kind of walk for after 9:00 pm.
Sometimes the best plan in Seville is still just Seville.
10. A Leisurely Sunday in Triana
📅 Sunday 23 August
To close the week, we suggest something quite simple: explore Triana without too strict a schedule.
Triana Market, San Jacinto street, Betis street, a stroll along the Guadalquivir and a few food stops along the way.
If you can, leave the walk for late afternoon and then cross the Triana Bridge as the sun starts to set.
A relaxed way to end the weekend before returning to routine.
Plans for every taste in Seville
The week of 17 to 23 August 2026 shows that staying in Seville in the middle of August doesn't mean running out of things to do.
You can dance swing in the city centre, listen to blues in the Alcázar gardens, bid farewell to the CAAC jazz cycle, discover an exhibition, enjoy a techno night or simply wait for the sun to go down and walk the city again.
Opening hours, tickets and access conditions may change, so we always recommend checking the organiser's official information before attending.
And you, which of these plans will you choose this week in Seville?
