Seville celebrates a historic Pride

Seville City Council has presented the programme for the Diversity Month 2026, an edition that seeks to take the Pride celebration beyond its usual venues and spread it across the whole city.

The programme kicked off at the end of May with events such as the parade by Fabio Encinar at the Real Fábrica de Artillería, held on 28 May, and EsteFest, on 30 May on Avenida Emilio Lemos, featuring Loco Bongo and a performance by Mayo.

This initiative is organised by La Fragua Projects, a Romani LGTBIQ+ organisation, and will take place on 18 and 19 June at the Hogar Virgen de los Reyes.

The aim of this proposal is to make visible the reality of Romani LGTBIQ+ people, to create safe spaces for meeting and reflection, and to position Seville as a city committed to diversity, equality and inclusion from an intersectional perspective.

On 18 June two notable gatherings will be held:

  • Safe meeting for Romani sexual and gender dissidence, at 11:00.
  • Discussions from Romani LGTBIQ+ activism, at 17:30.

These discussions will feature activists from Andalusia and other regions of Spain, addressing topics such as Romani LGTBIQ+ activism, transfeminism, access to employment, masculinities and the so-called “Romani Closet”.

Raising of the LGTBIQ+ flag

As every year, Seville will also hold the traditional raising of the LGTBIQ+ flag, which will take place on 23 June.

This symbolic act is part of the institutional programme of Pride Month and represents the city's commitment to equality, diversity and the rights of the community.

Pride Month Seville 2026 will also feature various acts of recognition and tribute.

On 5 June, ATA Sylvia Rivera will pay tribute to Candela and Soraya at the Teatro del Hogar Virgen de los Reyes.
