Hello, SevillaLovers! We're excited to share our recommendations as we explore Seville's historic centre together!

Get ready for an adventure full of impressive monuments, delicious tapas and irresistible ice creams. Join us with your family and enjoy this experience to the fullest!

Royal Alcázars

Did you know that the Royal Alcázars have been the setting for famous film and television productions? Yes, SevillaLovers! One of the most popular series filmed here is "Game of Thrones". The producers were fascinated by the beauty and unique atmosphere of the Alcázars, and decided to use them as the setting for the Water Gardens of Dorne in the series. Imagine walking with your children through the very same places where the characters of "Game of Thrones" once walked!

Now that we've sparked your curiosity, it's time to explore the Royal Alcázars. This royal palace has been used by different monarchs over the centuries. Take your time to discover its impressive halls and gardens. You'll be able to admire the architectural details, the courtyards filled with colourful tiles and the lush gardens surrounding them. Your children will feel like they're in a fairy tale!

Santa Cruz Quarter

After this outdoor tour, it's time to venture into the Santa Cruz neighbourhood. This labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets and charming squares will transport you back in time. SevillaLovers know very well that breaks are best enjoyed with tapas and refreshing drinks. So we recommend a stop at Bodega Santa Cruz Las Columnas at Calle Rodrigo Caro number 1. Here you can try authentic Sevillian stews and typical tapas, such as salmorejo, aubergines with honey or delicious papas aliñás. And for the little ones, order the tiny potato omelettes; they'll eat them two at a time.

Seville Cathedral

Our next destination is the impressive Seville Cathedral. This majestic building will leave you breathless with its imposing architecture and its famous Giralda. Here's what to see with the little ones:

– The Giralda! This is the Cathedral's bell tower and it's truly impressive! They can go up the ramps instead of stairs, so they won't get as tired! At the top, you'll have an incredible view of the city. It will be like seeing it from the sky!

– The Courtyard of the Orange Trees. This is a beautiful courtyard full of orange trees, and believe us, the scent is delicious! They'll be able to run and explore the courtyard while learning about its history and enjoying the tranquillity of this place.

– The Royal Chapel. Here you can see the tombs of the kings and queens of Spain. It's like history in stone! They'll love learning about the monarchs and their importance in Spanish history.

– The Cathedral Choir. This is a special place where you can see beautiful carved stalls and an incredible work of art. I'd recommend paying attention to the details in the woodwork; they are truly amazing!

– The Cathedral Treasury. Here you can see valuable objects, such as jewels and ancient relics. It will be like discovering a hidden treasure!

After marvelling at the beauty of the cathedral, I'd recommend stopping at Bar El Rinconcillo, nearby. Here you can enjoy classic Sevillian tapas, such as garlic prawns, sirloin in whisky sauce or flamenquín. I assure you it will be an unforgettable culinary experience!

Tired of so much history? Let's cool down with an ice cream, or maybe a cake? Coffee for the parents and a big chocolate milkshake for the kings and queens of the house? We have the place, SevillaLovers! It's called La Canasta and it's right on Avenida de la Constitución. You can sit inside, but we're sure the kids will prefer to be on the terrace watching the tram go by.

Torre del Oro and Nao Victoria

Continuing our route, we'll reach the emblematic Torre del Oro, located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. This ancient defensive tower offers impressive panoramic views of the city. Just a few metres' walk along the same riverside promenade you'll find the Nao Victoria. Incredible but true, SevillaLovers, our city houses an exact replica of this ship, a symbol of adventure and the protagonist of the First Circumnavigation of the Globe. Visitors can board this historic vessel and explore its decks, which once was the most advanced ship of its time and is today a great symbol of innovation and great voyages. Can you imagine your children emulating the buccaneers of the era? Take a look at the Nao Victoria website and book theatrical tickets so they can experience the history even more.

San Luis de los Franceses

Last but not least, we'll visit the beautiful Church of San Luis de los Franceses. This dazzling place is an architectural gem well worth exploring. It is a deconsecrated temple full of mysterious secrets your children will love discovering: strange relics, a mysterious courtyard and, of course, a crypt worthy of the Harry Potter saga.

After the visit, it's time to stop at the Calle Feria Market, where you'll find a wide variety of food stalls to satisfy the cravings of the whole family. Here you can try everything from seafood dishes to delicious Sevillian tapas. The market is home to numerous food outlets to suit every taste. A plus: the market is closed off on one side by the Palacio de Los Marqueses de la Algaba, so the children can play safely while the adult SevillaLovers rest.

We hope these recommendations are useful to you as you explore Seville's historic centre with the little ones. Remember that the most important thing is to enjoy this adventure together and create unforgettable memories. We look forward to welcoming you to the city we love so much! Happy travels, SevillaLovers!
