The Church of Santa María de la Oliva was built atop Lebrija's ancient mosque and brings together Mudéjar, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. Its main altarpiece is by Alonso Cano.
Lebrija is the homeland of Antonio de Nebrija, author of the first Castilian grammar, and one of the cradles of flamenco in southern Andalusia.
