Things to do in Seville

What to do in Seville this week: 7 to 13 September 2026

admin

September is picking up pace in Seville and this week is especially packed: international tennis, La Vuelta a España, night concerts at the Alcázar, immersive theatre, comedy, dinosaurs and the start of one of the year's great cultural events, the Flamenco Biennial.

If you still don't know what to do in Seville from Monday 7 to Sunday 13 September 2026, here is SevillaLover's selection of seven very different plans to make the most of the week.

1. A week of tennis with the Copa Sevilla Challenger

📍 Real Club Tenis Betis
📅 From Monday 7 to Sunday 13 September
🎾 Copa Sevilla Challenger ATP 125

Sports fans have a date all week with the 63rd Copa Sevilla Challenger, one of the most traditional tennis tournaments in Andalusia.

From 7 to 13 September, the courts of the Real Club Tenis Betis will host international professional tennis, with players such as Jaume Munar and Martín Landaluce among the names announced for this edition.

A perfect plan to swap theatres and terraces for clay courts for a few hours.

2. Music under the stars in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar

📍 Gardens of the Real Alcázar
📅 Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 September
🕥 22:30 h
🎟️ 7 €

Summer nights are still refusing to go away, and one of Seville's most special venues continues with its programme.

This week we can hear:

Tuesday 8 – Pájaro Guitar Duo
🎶 Las Criaturas

Wednesday 9 – Graci Rodríguez and Manuel Soto “Noly”
🎶 El campo no tiene llave: raíces y sueños de libertad

Two different musical proposals in gardens that do practically half the work on their own. Concerts start at 22:30.

3. La Vuelta Ciclista a España arrives in Seville

📍 Dos Hermanas – Seville
📅 Wednesday 9 September
🚴 Stage 17
📏 185 kilometres
🕔 Estimated finish: 17:19 h

One of the week's great sporting events rolls straight into the city.

The 17th stage of La Vuelta 2026 will leave from Dos Hermanas and finish in Seville after 185 kilometres. The neutralised start is scheduled for 13:00 and the organisers estimate the finish around 17:19.

If you have never experienced a big cycling tour passing live, this week gives you a good excuse to do so.

4. Becoming a juror during a play

📍 Cartuja Center CITE
📅 Saturday 12 September
🕔 17:00 and 19:00 h
⏱️ 60 minutes

This is probably one of the most different proposals of the week.

In The Jury Experience – Crimen en Alta Mar, you don't go to the theatre merely as a spectator: you become part of the jury.

During the performance you will have to listen to testimonies, analyse evidence and make decisions until you deliver your own verdict on an alleged murder that took place during a boat trip.

A mix of theatre, thriller and interactive experience taking place this Saturday at Cartuja Center. Recommended from age 12 upwards.

5. Luis Zahera gets “Chungo” in Seville

📍 Cartuja Center CITE
📅 Saturday 12 September
🕣 20:30 h

From the courtroom we move straight to laughter.

Actor Luis Zahera comes to Seville with “Chungo”, his comedy show in which he revisits anecdotes from his professional and personal career with the distinctive style that has made him one of the most recognisable figures in Spanish film and television.

The show is this Saturday at 20:30 h.

6. Sara Baras premieres “Infinita” in Seville

📍 Teatro de la Maestranza
📅 Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September
🕗 20:00 h
🎟️ From €43.70

We couldn't talk about this week without including one of the major events at the start of the XXIV Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.

Sara Baras presents the world premiere of “Infinita”, a new creation built around identity, Andalusian heritage and eight female perspectives.

There will be three chances to see it: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 20:00 h at the Teatro de la Maestranza.

Probably one of those shows Seville will keep talking about long after the Biennial ends.

7. Travelling millions of years back with the Dinosaurs of Patagonia

📍 CaixaForum Seville – Torre Sevilla
📅 Throughout the week
🎟️ General admission: €6

And we finish with a particularly good plan for the whole family.

The exhibition “Dinosaurios de la Patagonia” lets you discover some of the most important palaeontological discoveries made in Argentina and get close to the real work of researchers.

Among its main stars is the gigantic Patagotitan mayorum, represented by a replica about 30 metres long.

The exhibition will remain at CaixaForum Seville until 12 October, and during this week various visits and family activities linked to it also continue.

A week for every taste

From 7 to 13 September, Seville offers much more than a single major event.

We have international tennis for seven days, La Vuelta crossing the province on its way to the capital, music under the Alcázar's stars, a theatre experience where the audience decides the ending, Luis Zahera's humour, an exhibition that takes you back millions of years and, of course, the start of the Biennial with Sara Baras as one of its great names.

Sport, music, culture, comedy and family plans.

So there you have it: this week, staying at home is once again a rather hard option to defend.
