Things to do in Seville

What to do in Seville this Christmas 2025

admin

Christmas in Seville is something very special: illuminated streets, flamenco zambombas, Christmas markets, nativity scenes and events for families, couples or friends. Since it's December, I'll tell you the coolest and most current plans to make the most of the city.

Lights switch-on and mapping show

Christmas lighting across the city

  • This year, more than 304 streets and squares light up from 29 November until 6 January.
  • The iconic Avenida de la Constitución becomes the "Avenida de la Navidad": garlands, light trees, Christmas baubles… it's a whole stroll to enjoy as a couple, with friends or family.

Acordes de Sevilla — mapping at Plaza de San Francisco

  • An audiovisual projection on the façade of the City Hall, with music and images celebrating three Sevillian cultural anniversaries: the 150 years of the opera Carmen, the 100 years of the march "La Estrella Sublime" and 50 years of the group Triana.
  • It lasts about 14 minutes and is repeated every 30 minutes from 18:30 to 23:00 (and until 00:30 on special nights such as Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve or 5 January).

This plan is ideal if you come at night: stroll through the illuminated streets, enjoy the atmosphere and finish with the mapping.

Navigalia 2025 — magic on the Guadalquivir river

  • From 18 December to 4 January (except 24, 25, 31 December and 1 January) this audiovisual show returns, projecting light, sound and images onto the river walls, around the Muelle de la Sal.
  • This year the story they tell is called "Misión Regalo". There are five daily showings (18:45, 19:40, 20:35, 21:30 and 22:25).
  • It's perfect to come with your partner or as a family: a different, magical and authentically Sevillian plan.

Markets, nativity scenes, handicrafts and Christmas atmosphere

At this time of year Seville fills with Christmas markets, craft stalls, nativity scenes and small fairs that give the city a very special feel:

  • The traditional Feria del Belén (around the Cathedral/Archivo de Indias area), ideal if you want to see figures, nativity scenes and Christmas decorations.
  • Craft markets, gift stalls, handmade details… perfect if you're looking to buy something beautiful, original or souvenirs with Sevillian soul.
  • Many of these fairs and markets are spread across different neighbourhoods, so you can make a Christmas route on foot or by public transport.

If you enjoy strolling at a leisurely pace, discovering corners and taking home a memento, this plan is top.

Zambombas, concerts and festive atmosphere in neighbourhoods

  • The city celebrates more than 150 activities this December: flamenco zambombas, Christmas concerts, workshops, children's shows… spread across all districts.
  • The zambombas (those musical gatherings with villancicos, guitars, cante and clapping) are a tradition that warms the soul in any neighbourhood.
  • There will also be concerts in iconic venues such as the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, FIBES Sevilla, the Real Fábrica de Artillería or cultural spaces, so every plan can suit different tastes.

Perfect whether you come with family, little ones, friends or as a couple: Christmas atmosphere and plenty of art.

 Ice skating

If you're coming with little ones or fancy something fun, Seville at Christmas 2025 has several ice rinks and really cool plans:

  • Sevilla On Ice  located at Muelle de las Delicias (by the Guadalquivir). This Christmas park installs an ice rink, rides, a ferris wheel, slides, bumper cars, food stalls and a festive atmosphere.
  • Prado de San Sebastián  hosts the ice rink of the company "Hielo Azul": a covered rink of about 500 m², ideal for families and beginners. Open until 6 January (with longer hours on weekends and holidays).
  • Torre Sevilla also has a synthetic ice rink in its "Galería 0" from 21 November to 5 January. It's ideal for a quick afternoon-evening plan.

💡 If it's chilly, this with some roasted chestnuts and a hot chocolate can be a real treat.

Eating chestnuts, sweets and winter cravings  Christmas flavour!

One of the most heartwarming things in Seville at this time of year is enjoying the typical smells and flavours: roasted chestnuts, churros or buñuelos, having a tasty snack after a walk. This atmosphere is usually found at the Christmas markets, Christmas parks or winter fair areas. In the spaces with an ice rink (such as Prado de San Sebastián or Sevilla On Ice) there are usually food stalls (ideal for a break with churros, chestnuts or hot chocolate).

So if you're coming with little ones or fancy really going for it, this plan mixes the best of everything: a stroll, laughter and flavour.

Why it's worth experiencing Christmas in Seville

Seville is not just Holy Week or the Feria. At Christmas it transforms: the city breathes light, music, tradition and infectious joy. There are plans for every taste and age, from charming markets to spectacular shows. It's the perfect occasion to rediscover the city from a different perspective, with excitement, with family or with friends.

If you want (and I recommend it), this Christmas in Seville could be one of those you remember for a long time.
