Living the Feria de Sevilla is a real grind… but the good kind: hours on your feet, the heat, rebujito, dancing and that “come on, one more and we’ll go” that never actually happens.
And of course, at some point your body asks you to stop and eat something decent. Because it can't all be marquee tents.
If you're around the Los Remedios area and want to eat tapas well without any fuss, here are 5 places that never let you down:
1. Casa Ruperto (C/ Santa Fe)
A true classic. You don't come here to show off, you come to eat well and quickly so you can keep going at the feria.
What you must order: The fried quail. Fair warning: they're addictive.
2. Bodega San José (C/ Virgen de Luján)
An authentic neighbourhood bar, the kind that smells of tradition. Perfect for sitting down for a while and getting your strength back.
The essential dish: Spinach with chickpeas or a good plate of menudo. Spooned straight from the bowl, just as it should be.
3. La Escudilla (C/ Virgen de Luján)
Small, cosy and serving genuinely home-style food. Ideal for a quick stop without leaving the atmosphere behind.
Don't leave without trying: The croquetas or the flamenquín.
4. Casa Paco (C/ Asunción)
Right on calle Asunción, always lively. A very good option before heading into the Feria or on your way out.
Their speciality here: A good plate of jamón and a couple of classic montaditos.
5. Bar Típico Los Remedios (C/ Virgen de Luján)
No fuss. You eat well, quickly and at a good price. Exactly what you need in the middle of the feria.
Safe bet: Ensaladilla rusa or pescaíto frito.
